SNAP Photography

Byron Youth Service invited young photographers between the ages of 12 to 24 who live, work or study in the Northern Rivers region, to participate in SNAP! Youth Photography Competition, which has been running since 2008! This FREE competition culminated in a public exhibition at the Byron Youth Activity Centre (the YAC) in April.
SNAP! offered over $2000 in cash and prizes. The competition included 9 cash-prize categories donated by Byron Shire businesses reflecting various visions of the nominated theme for that year. In addition, the winner of the ‘People’s Choice Award’  received  cash and a public Art Mural donated by Byron Shire Council. In 2014 we included a Judges Award prize. Young people also had the opportunity to sell their work through the exhibition.
SNAP! photos were  submitted in colour or black & white and entries were accepted in different age groups. Each entrant was allowed to submit a maximum of 3 images. In addition, photos were printed and mounted for the exhibition (at no cost to the entrant).
