The Stakeholders

Byron Youth Service is an Incorporated Association registered with the NSW Department of Fair Trading on 13/7/1987. (Reg No. Y0273147)

It is also a Registered Charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission, ACNC.  (ABN 76939913491)

The Association is governed by a Constitution registered with the NSW Department of Fair Trading.

It is an Association of stakeholders (members) who pay an annual fee of $2.

An Annual General Meeting of stakeholders is held each year in November to elect a Board of 3 to 10 members. The Board consists of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, youth members and ordinary members. The Board meets monthly to oversee the operation of BYS.

Being a stakeholder in the Association is similar to being a shareholder in a Company. However as a Not-for-profit Association, you can only buy one stake and there is no dividend except for the annual report delivered at the AGM.

This reports to stakeholders how Byron Youth Service has achieved our mission each year to deliver a program of activities, services and youth friendly spaces that intersect welfare, recreation and youth culture.

To become a stakeholder you may apply to the Board on the form below. (Joining fee of $2 and Annual fee of $2 payable after acceptance).

“I’m really grateful for the inspiring experiences I’ve had through the project. The process of collaborating on a mural has been both exciting and nerve-racking at the same time. It’s really exciting to work in such a large scale.”
