Future Forest

Future Forest

Future Forest is an initiative to engage our community with the YAC’s landscape by creating an interactive food forest which will provide nourishment, inspiration and connection to nature while generating a living story of our community captured and shared through video and animation to inspire future generations.

For this project, the Byron Youth Service teamed up with the Seaton Foundation, Geoff Lawton and the Byron Shire Permaculture group, who provided their expertise and enthusiasms in building the garden.

Below are video’s recorded and edited by young people who were a part of Green Thumbs of the Future Forest. This was a project that utilizes a digital lens to meet and engage with nature. The project offered a number of interactive sessions where grade 6 students of Byron Community Public School learnt digital production skills in podcasting, abstract movie making and editing.
